Fall Cruise 2021

The cooler, beautiful autumn weather always calls us to go sailing.  This is another voyage whereever the wind blows, a Fall cruise to anywhere the wind takes us.  We always say "Let's sail up the Bay" with great ambitions of Havre de Grace or Mount Vernon, but when every Chesapeake creek and cove is beautiful & inviting, there is no down side to getting distracted closer to home.

The ship's roster has expanded to once again be a crew of three.  Sam, a 1 year old Australian Shepherd is the newest member of the family.

Thus will be her shake down cruise, getting her sea legs and learning about the strange noises & movements on a sailboat.  So far she's a great sailor.

This is what an exhausted puppy looks like!  She had a big swim when she tried to jump in the dinghy & missed!  (Had her life jacket on!)  She swam 3x around the boat before I could get the dinghy unclipped & in position to fish her out. But by then she had figured out she could hang on to a bracket  at the back of the boat.  Smart girl! After she was back in the dinghy she had a great time romping at the beach for an hour, no worse for wear.  She'll sleep really well tonight!
